My nephew Quinn moved to San Diego back in March, and he's been one surf stoked dude ever since!
This photo is from '21, a couple summers before he moved here, and even with only a dozen or two scattered days under his belt during a handful of summertime visits, he's already showing us how to bail in style!
He's been riding mostly hand me down equipment up to now, but he just put money down on a custom 9'2" Gordon and Smith noserider hand shaped by fellow red head and esteemed lead shaper at G&S, Chris Darby. To say he's excited about getting that thing in the water is an understatement of the highest degree.
Oh and when he's not pushing himself out in the water, he can also be seen showing the pavement what's up on pretty much any stickwheel you throw under his feet. I call him "Magic Feet" or some shit. ;-)
In fact I'm so stoked on his surfing that I popped for a Nikon 600/f4 autofocus lens just so that I can get shots like this (on a 60 year old 30 lb. log with a big D fin no less!):
